John is the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Covington. His duties include facilitating business retention and expansion efforts, attracting new business and investment to the city, and underwriting commercial development deals that involve City participation. John also manages the Request for Proposals process for the Covington Central Riverfront redevelopment project, ensuring that the city’s development objectives and commitments are met.
John serves as the Executive Director for the Covington Economic Development Authority, a non-profit created by the City of Covington to act as the agency for the oversight, administration and implementation of development of property, asset or improvement. The Authority oversees the use of tax increment financing for economic development projects with a public purpose.
John has served in various economic development roles throughout his career in the government, non-profit and the private sector. John attended Georgia State University in Atlanta where he received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Public Policy. He is a member of the NAIOP Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky chapter and the Kentucky Economic Development Association.
